Boiler Replacement in Washington, DC

Many Northwest DC rowhouses still run on boilers that are decades old. A new high-efficiency boiler or combi unit can cut gas use noticeably and add on-demand hot water.

We size the boiler to the home's radiators, handle venting changes and test every zone after installation.

You get a written quote with the full price before any work begins.

What is included

A boiler replacement quote covers removing the old boiler, the new boiler and venting, new circulator and expansion tank where needed, piping changes, a system flush, filling and purging air from every zone, and testing each thermostat. If an old chimney is no longer used, we explain what to do with it.

How long it takes

Most boiler replacements take one to two days. We plan the work so the house is without heat for as little time as possible, and in cold weather we schedule around the forecast when we can.

Repair or replace

Many old boilers in Northwest DC still have solid cast iron sections. If the heat exchanger is sound, replacing a circulator, zone valve or control can keep it running for years. If it leaks, cycles constantly or costs a lot to run, replacement often pays off.

High efficiency and combi boilers

Modern condensing boilers use less gas and vent through PVC instead of a chimney. Combi boilers also provide on demand hot water, which can free up space by removing the old water heater.

Keeping your radiators

A new boiler works with your existing radiators. We size it to the radiators and pipes you have, flush the system when needed and make sure every zone heats properly.

Common boiler repairs

We fix circulator pumps, zone valves, expansion tanks, relief valves, low water cutoffs and ignition problems. Many repairs can be done the same day with parts we carry.

We install throughout Northwest DC, including Petworth, Park View, Columbia Heights, Brightwood, Brightwood Park, 16th Street Heights, working from our base at 3901 Georgia Ave NW.
